Ten scholars were named as recipients of The Blue Eagle Circle Stipend Fund Award 2014 in a ceremony recently held at The Aerie, Cervini Hall: Anne Kay Arancon (4 BS HS), Philip Joshua Bernadas (5 BS ES), Wrench Chester Canicosa (5 BS BIO), Mara Cepeda (4 AB COM), Bea Clarito (4 BS LfSci), John Mark Dela Cruz (4 BS CH-MSE), Patricia Kareena Israel (4 AB POS-MPM), Jeanne Peralta (4 BS ME) Danielle Rayon (4 BS MGT), and Kazuki Yamada (4 BS LfSci).
The Stipend Fund Award, originally a project of the AdMUAAC alumni organization in California, aims to bestow a monetary gift to deserving graduating scholars every school year and is now on its 16th year. It is now administered by The Blue Eagle Circle (TBEC), an association of ADMU alumni based in Southern California. This group which formally bonded in 2010, is committed to connect fellow Ateneans around the globe, and provide an opportunity to give back to their alma mater through the Stipend Fund Award for ADMU scholars.
In November 19, 2011, The Blue Eagle Circle (TBEC) held an event dubbed, ”BlueLAgaan 2011”, a Filipino-theme Game Show, Dinner, and Dance at Crowne Plaza Hotel, San Pedro, CA. This was for the benefit of TBEC’s Annual Stipend Award Program – given to qualified and deserving scholars at the Loyola Schools of the Ateneo de Manila University. The recipients were seniors who greatly need additional assistance for thesis, immersion, senior projects, yearbook and other graduation expenses. The event organizers and promoters included Dar Rodriguez, Sasa Lejano, Ime Tioseco and Lyra Velayo.
